Emperor Production boss, Linford Young
Get ready Jamaica, Emperor Production is stepping forward to rule atop the island’s music industry, and to achieve that, the new producing and artistes’ management company has released two songs that are creating a stir in the streets.
Linford Young, head of Emperor Production, is looking to kindle a melodious mix of dancehall and reggae that will pique the interest of local and international music lovers, starting with the songs ‘Goosebumps’ and ‘Body Of A Goddess’.
Based in Bog Walk, St Catherine, Emperor Production has signed local acts ‘Mitch’ and ‘Dollar Coin’, who have collaborated to produce both songs, which, according to Young, are getting good rotation on a number of local radio stations.
Young said Emperor Production will be producing music of the highest calibre.
“The songs that I am doing at the moment can be played even with your kids. Our songs are of love and what is going on today. What we are saying is that we want to be more conscious, and with more reality,” Young said.
‘Body Of A Goddess’ is a nice blend of dancehall with a bit of hip-hop, while ‘Goosebumps’ is a hardcore reggae track.
Young, who lives in England, but travels to the island regularly, is looking forward to these two tracks catapulting him into the heart of the music industry although Emperor Production is only five months’ old, with background work started more than a year ago.
The youthful nature of Emperor Production, however, has not stopped Young from laying the groundwork for bigger things, with many other tracks at various stages of production, and ‘Bingo’, again done by Mitch and Dollar Coin, being the next single to be released.

According to Young, the distance between England and Jamaica is lessened tremendously with the right blend of individuals working on his behalf.
“We’ve got more than an album (of songs), but we are just taking one step at a time. When you employ people who know what they are doing, and have been in the field for a long time, it's very easy. But at the moment I have got one foot in England and one foot in Jamaica, so I will be here every other month,” he outlined.
To help boost the brand’s image, Young is presently in consultation with an international artiste to do a collaboration with one of the artistes signed to Emperor Production. He is, however, waiting until all the details are finalised to release the name of the top act.
Young wants to explore all facets of the reggae and dancehall market and is still looking to sign talent. He is presently in the hunt for a female, whom he prefers to be about 12-13 years’ old, in the hope that she will be able to spend a long time at Emperor Production.
