Elderly pedal cyclist mowed down in Trelawny

An elderly pedal cyclist died as a result of injuries he sustained in a hit-and-run collision in Trelawny on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 61-year-old labourer, Clive Kerr, of a Hague, Trelawny address.

Reports are that about 11:00 a.m., Kerr was riding his bicycle along the Hague main road heading towards Falmouth, when he was mowed down by an unknown motorist, who did not stop.

The injured man was taken to the Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Kerr became the 14th person to be killed on the roads in the parish since the start of the year.

The Trelawny police are now working to track down the vehicle that hit down Kerr, and the driver who was behind the wheels.
