Elderly man hit from bicycle by car, dies in Portland

An elderly pedal cyclist died from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle crash along the Woodstock main road in Buff Bay, Portland on the weekend.

The deceased has been identified as 67-year-old Rollin Brown, a fisherman and ex-correctional officer of Black Hill district in Portland.

Reports are that on Saturday, May 23 at about 5.12 pm, Brown was riding his bicycle along the road when it is alleged that the driver of a Nissan motorcar that was travelling in the opposite direction, lost control of the vehicle, which hit Brown from the bicycle.

The police were summoned and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Buff Bay police are investigating the tragic development.
