Elderly farmer found burnt to death in coal kiln
An elderly farmer was discovered burnt to death in a charcoal kiln in his rural Trelawny community on Thursday.
He has been identified as 73-year-old Alfred Evans of Brampton district in the parish.
Indications are that the Trelawny police were called to an area of the Brampton community on Thursday afternoon after the body of the man was discovered in the burning kiln.
Loop News understands that this was after he went missing on Wednesday, following which Evans' body was discovered in the kiln by his brother who went in search of him.
On the arrival of the police, the badly burnt body was seen lying face down in the smouldering kiln.
The body was subsequently removed to a morgue after being pronounced dead by a doctor.
The Trelawny police are investigating the development.
