Elaine Thompson headlines 7 Jamaicans to compete in Paris on Saturday

Double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson will be among seven Jamaicans who will compete at the 12th meeting of the 2019 IAAF Diamond League, in Paris on Saturday.

Thompson, the 2016 Olympic 100m and 200m champion, is down to contest the women's 100m where she will face African champion Marie-Josee Ta Lou, Dutchwoman Dafne Schippers and Teahna Daniels who notched an upset 100m victory at the US championships on July 26. Thompson, who won at this meeting in 2017, is the co-world leader at 10.73.

Jamaican Natallian Whyte is also in the race.

Two Jamaicans will also contest the women's triple jump. They are Shanieka Ricketts and Kimberly Williams. 

The women’s triple jump will also feature World champion Yulimar Rojas of Venezuela, who is one of the most dominant athletes in the event. She is the world-leader this season with a PB of 15.06m.

The other Jamaicans down to compete are Stephenie Ann McPherson in the women's 400; Natoya Goule in the women's 800m and Ronald Levy in the men's 110m hurdles.
