Eight persons injured in St Mary bus crash

The St Mary police are investigating a two-bus collision on the Galina main road in the parish, which left eight persons hospitalised on Monday morning.

It is understood that at least one of those injured is in serious condition.

Initial reports are that at about 8:35 a.m., a Toyota Coaster bus was being driven along the Galina main road when its driver attempted to make a right turn at the Galina Breeze Hotel.

In the process of making the turn, a minibus, which was travelling towards Ocho Rios, slammed into the coaster.

The minibus, which had eight persons on board, subsequently overturned along a section of the roadway.

The injured persons were assisted to the hospital for treatment, and are at various stages of recovery.
