Dream Weekend off to a dream start in Negril

Pulsating music, bright lights and throngs of people along the popular Negril Hip Strip set the scene for the official start of Dream Weekend 2018 on Thursday night.

This year, Dream Weekend celebrates 10 years and it started on a high note with Dream Live at Cayenne Beach.

The packed venue quickly illuminated with dancing and singing as the skilled DJs, which included Bishop Escobar and Coppershot, played some crowd favourites while the Magnum Tonic Wine dancers demonstrated the latest dance moves.

The true highlight of the night came when the artistes started performing during the stage show segment. The newer artistes, including Rygin King and Teejay from Montego Bay, and fast rising dancehall star Shenseea delivered some entertaining and engaging performances.

After her performance, Shenseea - in her upbeat and fun loving personality - told Loop News that she is pleased with the set she delivered this year as it is a great improvement on her performance at last year's Dream Weekend.

The more seasoned artistes such as Aidonia, Ding Dong and Jah Cure were among the other performers who gave stellar sets that helped to make the first party for Dream Weekend 2018 a great one.

Dream weekend continues today with Celebrity Playground and Twisted Spiritz. So buckle up and get ready for the next four days - because this is going to be one hell of a Dream!

Stay tuned to the Loop app, website and social media pages all weekend for highlights from Dream Weekend 2018, the largest party experience in Jamaica.
