Downtown Kingston men charged with murder of Spanish Town man
Detectives assigned to the Kingston Central Police Division have arrested and charged two men from downtown Kingston with murder and shooting with intent.
Dead is 29-year-old Allando Hibbert, otherwise called ‘Moonie’, of Ebony Vale, Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Charged with murder, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and shooting with intent are 30-year-old Dwight Leslie, otherwise called ‘Cat Fish’ or ‘Cattas’, of Barry Street, and 20-year-old Tyreek Johnson, otherwise called ‘Ramone’ or ‘Isis’, of Tower Street, both in downtown Kingston.
Reports from the Kingston Central police are that about 7.30 pm on November 1, Hibbert was standing at the entrance to an apartment building on Fleet Street in downtown Kingston, when he was approached by two men armed with handguns, who opened fire at him.
Hibbert ran in an attempt to escape, but the men chased him and shot him several times.
Another man who was in the vicinity of the incident also sustained gunshot wounds.
The police were alerted and Hibbert and the other man were taken to a hospital, where Hibbert died while being treated, and the other man was admitted for treatment.
An investigation was launched and Leslie and Johnson were arrested and placed on an identification parade, where they were pointed out.
They are scheduled to appear in court at a date to be announced.
Investigations continue into the incident.
