Prime Minister Andrew Holness has expressed a deep sense of regret at the passing of broadcaster, Dorraine Samuels.
Samuels passed away Tuesday afternoon after ailing for some time.

"Dorraine Samuels has shaped the lives of so many who grew up listening to her on morning radio and her effortless presentation of the nightly news. She will forever be in our hearts," Holness said.

A long-time employee of the RJRGleaner Communications Group, she entered broadcasting on January 1981.
She shared an unforgettable partnership with Alan Magnus on RJR for four decades. She also hosted the programme Good Morning Jamaica which was later named Dorraine's Coffee Break.
“Dorraine inspired the nation as she shared remarkable human interest stories and presented the history of Jamaica in living color. She chronicled the evolution of modern Jamaica with poise and confidence on the nightly news,” Honess said.
The prime minister also expressed condolences to Samuels' family, friends, the RJRGleaner Communications Group and all members of the media fraternity.
