Don't oppose Stranger Dancer in 5th race at Caymanas Park
Champion trainer Wayne DaCosta’s unbeaten United States-bred gelding, STRANGER DANGER, should easily tick off his fifth win in Wednesday’s fifth race at Caymanas Park, an open allowance at a mile, partnered for the first time by six-time former champion jockey, Omar Walker.
Walker replaces last year’s champion rider, Anthony Thomas, who has reportedly fallen out of favour with DaCosta, even though he was aboard the gelding at exercise a week ago.
STRANGER DANGER is considered among the top three horses in the country, along with stablemate SHE’S A MANEATER and last year’s Gold Cup and Diamond Mile winner, Horse of the Year WILL IN CHARGE.
Securing the ride aboard STRANGER DANGER will enhance Walker’s prospects of landing an unprecedented seventh jockeys’ championship at Caymanas Park, eclipsing his own mark, which includes four consecutive titles.
Walker has so far ridden 23 winners, six clear of apprentice Christopher Mamdeen, after closing a three-timer on Saturday with DaCosta’s 2000 Guineas hopeful, RUN THATCHER RUN, last year’s champion two-year-old.
Post time for the fifth event in which STRANGER DANGER will face five rivals, including three stablemates, is 2:45 p.m.
First post for the 10-race card is 12:20 p.m.
