Don't oppose Reggae Road in Monday Morning Trophy

Trainer Richard Azan’s REGGAE ROAD, a strong six-and-a-half length winner on March 7, hunts a second straight win in Saturday’s 1400-metre Monday Morning Trophy, two weeks ahead of the 2000 Guineas on April 15.

REGGAE ROAD finished second on debut, February 17, a length and a quarter behind recent Prince Consort Stakes winner, EL PROFESOR.

EL PROFESOR returned to score a shocking 32-1 upset over ANOTHER VIGOROUS in the Prince Consort Stakes, a major trial race for the 2000 Guineas, making REGGAE ROAD the favourite to beat his 10 rivals.

Included in the line-up are two first-time winners, MISS FORMALITY and OUTRAGEOUS TAJ, who have been training well at exercise.

However, REGGAE ROAD reports light at 50.5 kilos with champion apprentice Anthony Thomas, the lightest he has been in three starts.

The Monday Morning Trophy will be run as the seventh of 10 races, post time 3:55 p.m.

First post is 12:25 p.m.
