The internet has been buzzing with talk of reggae icon Buju Banton teaming up with American record executive DJ Khaled for a new track.

Khaled's friendship with Buju, as well as his association with reggae and dancehall music, stretches as far back to the 1990s, when he often visited Jamaica to play at events, particularly the Fully Loaded series of beach parties organised by Solid Agency.

He has also worked with artistes such as Mavado and Sizzla, and is also a big friend of Bounty Killer.

DJ Khaled has always represented for reggae and dancehall music and has done a lot to get other hip hop celebrities to listen to the artform; for instance, he got Diddy to share a video dancing to music from Richie Spice with his twins to his 9.6 million followers on Instagram. Khaled was also seen in the footage.

Meanwhile, Buju Banton fans eagerly await the release of new music from the reggae icon amid reports that he has already started working with ace producers such as Stephen Marley and Steven 'Lenky' Marsden.
