Dexta Daps to perform at CFW on Friday night
Dancehall star Dexter Daps will be the headline performer at tonight’s Caribbean Fashion Week show at Villa Ronai tonight.
Tonight’s event centres around dancehall fashion and some of the best designers in the Caribbean are expected to showcase their work.
Speaking with Loop News, Pulse’s chairman Kingsley Cooper said: “This year we at Pulse have pushed the boat out with Caribbean. Fashion Week and will make it a spectacle worth remembering.
“For CFW 2017 we have collections by Meiling, Lois Samuels, Gavin Douglas, Alkaline, Sandra Kennedy, Kurt Campbell, our very own Jeneil Williams and Biggie.”
Cooper who is the doyen of Caribbean model management, conceptualized Friday’s dancehall theme and how the fashion has influenced the culture.
Dexta Dap’s performance is much anticipated and he is expected to draw a big crowd.
On Saturday night, Fuse ODG out of the UK is the headline act with the esteemed Meiling showing her collection.
Other designers exhibiting their works that night include, Sandra Kennedy, Pat Wright Lois Samuels and J’African.
Sunday night sees international R&B star Ashanti performing live with Gavin Douglas of the UK, Moncriefe, Lee Ann Designz and Drenna Luna among the designers on show.
Over the weekend, Pulse will be rolling out some of the most successful models of the region who have made an impact on the international stage. These include: Carla Campbell ( Sports Illustrated) Jeneil Williams ( Louis Vuitton, H&M), Alicia Burke ( Italian Vogue) and Nadine Willis ( Gucci) and her model daughter, Tatiana Berg.
