Derrimon Trading led gains during Tuesday’s trading
Derrimon Trading Company Limited (DTL) led gains on Tuesday’s trading day of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
DTL gained 10.56 per cent to close at $26.49. It's a record high for the stock benefiting from news of a new distribution deal.
It was followed by Sterling Investments Limited (SIL) up 10.21 per cent to close at $15.98. The day’s largest decline was Ciboney Group Limited (CBNY), down 15.38 per cent to close at $0.11.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 1,855.32 points (0.55 per cent) to close at 341,912.78. The JSE Index advanced by 2,096.78 points (0.63 per cent) to close at 333,123.58. The Junior Market Index declined by 6.28 points (0.18 per cent) to close at 3,265.74. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 3.96 points (2.33 per cent) to close at 174.28.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 60 stocks of which 23 advanced, 28 declined and 9 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 7,106,717 units valued at over $63,706,431.89. WISYNCO was the volume leader with 1,217,069 units (17.13 per cent) followed by HONEY BUN (1982) LIMITED with 1,000,200 units (14.07 per cent) and JMMB GROUP LIMITED 7.50 per cent with 899,400 units (12.66 per cent).
