Derrimon, Lasco Distributors led gains during Monday’s trading

Derrimon Trading and Lasco Distributors led gains during Monday’s trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

It was also a day which saw the first decline of Indies Pharma on the market. That stock which was listed on August 15, dipped 1.9 per cent to close at $2.54. Indies will however open trading on Tuesday at $2.60 signaling support for its pricing.

Derrimon Trading however gained 11 per cent to close at $23.33 and Lasco Distributors gained 8.7 per cent to close at $4.12. While on the losing end, Mayberry Investments dipped 11 per cent to close at $7.10

The JSE Combined Index declined by 69.93 points (0.02 per cent) to close at 328,861.39. The Junior Market Index advanced by 46.92 points (1.47 per cent) to close at 3,239.34. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 3.05 points (1.84 per cent) to close at 169.08.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 48 stocks of which 18 advanced, 21 declined and 9 traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 4,144,909 units valued at over $42,438,241.12. Lasco Manufacturing was the volume leader with 1,013,663 units (24.46per cent) followed by Indies Pharma with 539,221 units (13.01per cent) and JMMB Group 7.50per cent with 456,103 units (11.00 per cent) .
