The Jamaica Association for the Deaf (JAD) has received a donation of $250,000 from the Best Dressed Chicken division of the Jamaica Broilers Group (JBG) in partnership with Running Events Jamaica.

The donation represents part proceeds raised from the ninth staging of the race day event 'Everyone's A Winner/The Best Dressed Chicken 3K, 5K & 10K Fathers’ Day Road Races held earlier this year at Hope Gardens in St Andrew.

JAD is one of two beneficiaries to receive donations from race event; the other beneficiary being the Diabetes Association of Jamaica. Both organisations had volunteers at the race day event, helping to create a memorable experience for the over 2500 patrons that participated in the family-fun event.

Upon presenting the symbolic cheque, brand manager for The Best Dressed Chicken, Lorraine Kemble shared how humbled she felt to be able to give back to the JAD through the company initiative.

"We truly hope that this donation will go a far way in helping the JAD with its varied needs, as we at Jamaica Broilers Group are truly happy that we get to play our part in helping charitable organisations carry out various projects and initiatives that benefit their communities and our country", Kemble said.

Kimberley Sherlock Marriott-Blake, Executive Director of the Jamaica Association for the Deaf, who accepted the donation on behalf of the Association expressed her gratitude to Jamaica Broilers Group and Running Events Jamaica for continued commitment to the Everyone’s A Winner/The Best Dressed Chicken race events and for their kind contribution, which she said will be of great help in continuing to make the work of the Association possible.

“It is an amazing feeling whenever companies come on board and support the JAD and I feel so happy and blessed for this donation as I know it will go a far way in helping the Association”.
