Curfew in effect for Rockfort, Kingston

A curfew has been imposed in sections of Rockfort, Kingston 2. The curfew began at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, June 28 and will remain in effect until  6:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 30.

The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:

  • East along Marl Road to Pleasant Height Road with an imaginary line to Hillside Crescent from the intersection of Marl Road and Oliver Road.

 

  • North along Oliver Road from the intersection of Oliver Road and Windward Road to the intersection of Oliver Road and Marl Road.

 

  • West along Windward Road from the intersection of Doech Road and Windward Road to the intersection of Windward Road and Oliver Road.

 

  • South along an imaginary line from Hillside Crescent to the intersection of Doech Road and Windward Road.

During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless authorised in writing by the ground commander.

The residents say the latest conflict between gangs started with the killing of a former community strongman “Charlie Wapp” last Friday.
