Crucial Appeal wins; female trainer connects with first starter

CRUCIAL APPEAL on Saturday outfinished a determined A.P.I. to win Caymanas Park's closing event by a head at 1000-metre straight.

Racing among  $850,000 optional claimers, speedy CRUCIAL APPEAL took charge early as the 3-5 favourite, going past A.P.I. to hold a narrow lead coming on to the main track.

A.P.I. fought hard but was held by CRUCIAL APPEAL, who posted 59.2 seconds for his favourite distance.

Former two-time champion apprentice Doushane Gordon rode a double for trainer Fitznahum Williams - ADORING LADY at odds of 3-1 in the second event and 30-1 upsetter STORM VALLEY in the fourth.

New female trainer Kibbeisha Little got a winner with her first starter, 6-1 mild upsetter, NASDAQ PRINCESS, who chased and beat 2-5 favourite RED DREAD in the 1200-metre Roderick 'Pilot' Francis Trophy for conditional $180,000 claimers.

Racing continues at Caymanas Park on Saturday.
