Cops taking no chance with security for big Kanye West concert

The security forces are already out in their numbers in anticipation of crowd control and other public order needs at the Kanye West Pop-Up Concert at Emancipation Park in New Kingston on Friday evening.

Ground commander, Senior Superintendent Terrence Bent, told Loop News that apart from traffic management, patron safety and security are also high priorities.

"We are taking no chances. We have a lot of uniformed and plainclothes police on the ground, and we are going to ensure that vehicles parked at the designated area are secure," Bent said.

He added that measures are being taken to ensure that nothing untoward takes place inside Emancipation Park.

Police personnel being briefed and assigned duties relative to the Kanye West concert inside Emancipation Park in New Kingston, on Friday afternoon.

"We have to secure the inner perimeter and outer perimeter of the venue. We have numbers on the ground and police on bikes and at strategic points to ensure a smooth traffic flow," he said.
