Cops intercept stolen car after high-speed chase into Ocho Rios

A motorcar that was stolen from two females by two men in Brandon Hill, St James, was intercepted in Ocho Rios, St Ann following a high-speed chase on Friday evening.

The men were held and are to be handed over to the St James police for questioning.

Reports to Loop News are that officers from St Ann received a transmission alerting them that a stolen Toyota Fielder motorcar, which was stolen from two females in St James, was heading towards the parish.

The vehicle was later spotted by officers, who gave chase.

The motorcar was eventually intercepted in Ocho Rios, and the male driver a male passenger were taken into police custody.

The police are continuing their probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, the St Ann police are sending a strong message to criminals from other parishes to stay away from the division.

The division’s police hierarchy has declared a resolve to intensify the team’s efforts to thwart the practice of persons wanted for serious offences using the parish as a route to escaping prosecution
