The police are following a number of leads into the fatal shooting of a father close to Lannaman’s Preparatory School in St Andrew on Monday morning.

The victim, Ainsley Folkes, a 47-year-old businessman of Norbrook Acres, St Andrew, was shot by a lone gunman after exiting the school compound.

“We have received information that the man who carried out the attack came to the location in a Tiida motorcar and waited for the father,” said a police source.

However, the source declined to give any further precise detail on the ongoing investigation.

But there are reports that the attacker has been described as being in his late 40s.

The police said soon after the father exited the school premises, he was approached and shot by the gunman.

The perpetrator then reportedly returned to his vehicle and drove away from the scene.

The incident forced an early suspension of classes at the educational institution.
