Community tailor shot dead, woman injured in Clarendon

The police have increased their presence in sections of Clarendon where a man was shot and killed and a female injured during an early morning attack by gunmen on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Sean Cunningham, 26-year-old tailor, of Coolie Lane, Effortville, Clarendon

Reports from the police are that about 7:30 a.m., Cunningham was at his shop, located close to the May Pen bus park, when he was approached by two men.

Reports are that after a brief conversation the men pulled handguns and opened fire hitting Cunningham and a woman, who was standing close by.

The men then made their escape in a motor car.

The police were called to the area and the injured persons were taken to the hospital where Cunningham died while undergoing treatment and the injured woman treated and released.

The police say no motive has yet been established for the attack.
