Cocaine in eyeshadow: India-bound narcotics came from Trinidad

A 46-year-old woman and her 25-year-old daughter have been arrested in India for smuggling cocaine from Trinidad and Tobago, through the Indian postal system.

The two were arrested after officers, following a tip-off, intercepted the Goa-bound consignment in Nagpur.

According to India media reports, the 46-year-old woman was arrested in Nagpur receiving the parcel, while her daughter was held in Goa.

The drugs were concealed in an eyeshadow palette.

Officials in Mumbai say the cocaine, which weighed 360 grammes, was worth Rs 1.5 cr (US $222,675).

Investigators believe the parcel was part of a larger shipment.
