Christiana High student drowns at river in Manchester

A student of Christiana High School in Manchester reportedly died from drowning in the Hector River in the parish on Friday afternoon.

The student’s body was pulled from the river on Saturday morning.

Reports were that shortly after midday on Friday, 17-year-old Tristan Brown and some friends went swimming in the river, where Brown encountered difficulties while in the water.

A search for his body was called off without success on Friday evening but was resumed on Saturday morning with the assistance of the police.

The body was located shortly after 9:00 on Saturday.
