Explosive Jamaica and West Indies opener Chris Gayle set the Global T20 Canada 2019 on fire with a whirlwind 122 not out off just 54 balls to help Vancouver Knights register the second-highest total in T20 history.
Vancouver Knights posted 276 for three off their allotted 20 overs against Montreal Tigers. However, the Tigers were unable to bat as the match was unfortunately called off due to the threat of lightning and thunderstorms in the city
Gayle’s scintillating knock included 12 sixes and seven fours. He, now, has become the first batsman to smash 1000 boundaries and register 22 hundred in T20 cricket
Gayle was well supported by opening partner Tobais Visee who scored a quick-fire 51 runs from 19 balls. South Africa’s Rassie Van der Dussen also got in on the act after smashing 56 from 26 balls.
