Chris Gayle booked for South Africa’s T20 global league

Jamaica and West Indies batting star Chris Gayle heads a group of International players who have already signed up for Cricket South Africa’s T20 global league, which is set to bowl off in November.
The new-look league is aimed at generating the success levels of other global competitions like the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Australian 'Big Bash'. It replaces South Africa’s previous domestic T20 tournament, the 'Ram Slam'.
Gayle will be plying his trade against other stars, such as former England batsman Kevin Pietersen, current England limited overs players Eoin Morgan and Jason Roy, and New Zealand ex-international, Brendon McCullum.
The new league is to feature eight franchises, which are to be based in the South African cities of Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Stellenbosch and Benoni.
Nearly 400 players from 10 countries have already indicated their interest in being part of the draft for the league, which is scheduled for August 19.
