A Chinese national has been taken into police custody following a major operation that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of ‘counterfeit goods’ in St James on Wednesday.
Detectives from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) conducted the operation that led to the recovery of some $10 million worth of goods from the Beauty Queen Haberdashery.
In the process, Youngsen Li, 37, was arrested and charges with unlawful use of trademark.
He is to appear in court on January 24.
The seized goods collectively included hundreds of supposedly fake ‘name brand’ sneakers, slippers, purses and travel bags.
The C-TOC team also reported that lotto scamming paper works were found at a location in St James during the operation there on Wednesday.
