Charlemont High to host free health fair, gospel concert
Created : 17 May 2017
The Charlemont High School PSA on May 27 will be hosting a free health fair and Gospel Extravaganza dubbed W.A.V.E - Women Against Violence Everywhere - which will be held on the grounds of the school.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the construction of the school’s auditorium.
The Health Fair commences at noon and continues to 5 pm where the public will be given free health screenings, and be exposed to a wealth of information offered by various agencies and includes fun activities for kids and presentations by inspirational speakers among items.
Then at 6pm, patrons will be treated to WAVE Gospel Explosion where women will especially be honored by the gospel through music.
Headed by popular gospel singing sensation, Lieutenant Stitchie, Jabez and others, with support from the award winning Charlemont High School Choir and Band, patrons will be treated to an unusual night of love for God and its people.
Leading ladies in Jamaica are expected to be in attendance as special guests and give their support to this initiative.
President of the CHSPSA, Onenetta LaBeach said she looks forward to the support of the entire Linstead community, as the work to support its citizenry through interactive programs such as WAVE begins there.
“We push for the support of women and children, as most societal problems often leave this sect destabilized," LaBeach said.
"We will reach out to the men who are against the harsh treatment meted out to displaced women and children, to come and WAVE and support your partners, relatives and friends and show you too are against violence,” she added.
PRO of the CHSPSA, Stephanie Elliott has appealed to the Linstead business community to support this charity venture in whatever way possible.
“We still have booth space at the Fair and are seeking support toward the concert,” Elliott said.
