Cash seized from three foreign nationals under Proceeds of Crime Act

Detectives from the Narcotics Division seized a sum of money found in the possession of two female Surinamese nationals and a male French Guinanese at the Norman Manley International Airport, under the Proceeds of Crime Act on Sunday.

Reports are that approximately 2:45pm, the three were held at the airport with US$93,000.00; Surinamese$325; EURO$150; and J$50.00 concealed on their persons.

They were reportedly about to board a Fly Jamaica flight, destined to Guyana, when they were apprehended by narcotics detectives who made the discovery.

The police have withheld the identities of the three pending interviews with their attorneys.

The police are also probing to determine if the three were involved in money laundering.
