Caribbean Airlines hosts customer appreciation reception

Caribbean Airlines, recognised several of its corporate partners and top tier frequent flyer members at a customer appreciation reception held at the Spanish Court Hotel, Kingston.

The event was attended by Government Ministers including Robert Montaque, Minister of Transport and Fayval Williams, Minister without Portfolio, the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and other key stakeholders in tourism and business.

In addressing the evening’s guests, Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Airlines, Garvin Medera underscored that Caribbean Airlines is jointly owned by the Governments of Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.

“Caribbean Airlines is an authentic Caribbean air carrier that is proudly owned by the people of Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. Going forward, you will see this pride reflected in an even more structured way in all that we do.”

He continued: “We are strengthening our partnerships here in Jamaica and I am thrilled to report that Caribbean Airlines is now the Official Airline of the Reggae Girlz and Reggae SumFest will be “Reggae SumFest presented by Caribbean Airlines”. 

The airline’s Chairman S. Ronnie Mohammed welcomed the audience, highlighting that “Caribbean Airlines recognises the critical role we have in increasing annual passenger traffic year-over-year to the Caribbean.  In 2019, we will place even greater focus on enhancing regional connectivity with more options to make our region more easily and affordably accessible.”

The chairman also encouraged the people of Jamaica, the business community and other stakeholders to rally around Caribbean Airlines, indicating that support from individuals and business was essential for the airline to sustain success. Caribbean Airlines transports over 485,000 persons to and from Jamaica annually.

The event was used to recognize top tier frequent flyers like Executive Gold Member Cecille Bryan, who was awarded Lifetime Membership, with the airline’s Club Caribbean.

Other awardees included Trafalgar Travel and Total Travel, Cargo clients Lanco Industries and Exec Direct Aviation Services Limited and one of the airline’s long standing corporate partners Florida East Coast Travel Services.

Caribbean Airlines will upgrade its jet fleet in 2019 to the Boeing 737 Max. The airline continues to deliver safe, reliable and consistent service to the people of Jamaica, the region, the Diaspora and its valued stakeholders within the Caribbean and beyond.
