Cargo Handlers and Barita led gains during Wednesday’s trading

Cargo Handlers Limited and Barita Investments led double-digit gains during Wednesday’s trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange JSE.
CHL gained 26 per cent to close at $7.74 followed by Barita up 16 per cent to close at $68.51.
Top declining stocks were Eppley Caribbean Property Fund down 17 per cent to $47.14 and Palace Amusement down 14 per cent to $1,305.
Meanwhile, the JSE Combined Index declined by 544.62 points (0.15 per cent) to close at 368,033.00 and the JSE Index declined by 882.30 points (0.24 per cent) to close at 370,507.49.
Also on the day, the Junior Market Index advanced by 24.97 points (1.00 per cent) to close at 2,522.42 as well as the JSE USD Equities Index, which advanced by 0.52 points (0.28 per cent) to close at 187.80.
The JSE Financial Index declined by 0.11 points (0.11 per cent) to close at 96.80.
The JSE Manufacturing & Distribution Index declined by 0.19 points (0.26 per cent) to close at 74.11.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 69 stocks of which 28 advanced, 31 declined and 10 traded firm.
