Car wash operator gunned down in Santoy, Hanover

A car wash operator was shot and killed in the Santoy, Hanover, community during the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Jeffrey Brown of a Santoy, Hanover address.

Brown's killing was the second committed in the community within a 24 hour period.

On Monday,  24-year-old bike taxi operator Delano Barwise, also called Sanchez, also of Santoy, was shot and killed in the community after he dropped off a student at the Church Hill Primary School.

A nine-year-old school boy was shot and injured during that incident.

In the meantime, on Tuesday morning at about 1:30, the police were summoned to Santoy after residents reported that  explosions, believed to be gunshots, were heard.

Upon their arrival  the police discovered  Brown's bullet riddled body, lying in a pool of blood.

Brown's killing pushes the number of murders in the parish to 36 since the start of the year.
