CAC 2000 led the pack with led double-digit gains on Monday

CAC2000 (CAC) and four other stocks led double-digit gains on Monday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

CAC gained 25 per cent to close at $18.75. The company which provides industrial air-conditioning installations continues to dominate gains in recent weeks. It was followed by Sterling Investments (SIL) up 18 per cent on the day. Supreme Ventures (SVL) gained 18 per cent to $20.51 and Pan Jam Investments (PJAM) gained 10 per cent to $64.03 and so too Caribbean Cream (Kremi) to $8.03.

The day’s top declining stock went to Sagicor Real Estate X-Fund Limited (XFUND) down 15 per cent and ISP Finance (ISP) down 9.0 per cent.

The JSE Combined Index advanced by 8,237.37 points ( 2.25 per cent) to close at 374,708.91. The JSE Index advanced by 8,949.87 points ( 2.50 per cent) to close at 367,269.98. The Junior Market Index advanced by 1.98 points ( 0.06 per cent) to close at 3,397.00. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.63 points ( 0.39 per cent) to close at 161.03.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 57 stocks of which 30 advanced, 20 declined and 7 traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 4,427,027 units valued at over $70.4 million. XFUND was the volume leader with 1,221,240 units (27.59 per cent) followed by Carreras with 342,484 units (7.74per cent) and Grace Kennedy with 252,932 units (5.7 per cent) .
