CAC 2000, Jetcon stocks declined during last trading week

The Jamaica Stock Exchange combined indices pulled back during the five-day trading week, led by declines from CAC2000 which lost one-third of its value and Jetcon Corporation down one-quarter of its value during the trading week.

Top advancers in the week included RJR up 11 per cent and Carib Cement up 8.0 per cent. CAC closed at $9.00 while Jetcon closed at $2.41 and Jamaican Teas down 12 per cent to $3.48.

Overall market activity resulted from trading in 104 stocks of which 33 advanced, 33 declined and 38 traded firm.

The JSE Combined Index declined by 1,573.02 points ( 0.40 per cent) to close at 389,066.68.

The JSE Index declined by 1,461.51 points ( 0.38 per cent) to close at 386,815.40.

The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,608.35 points ( 0.38 per cent) to close at 424,572.25. The Junior Market Index declined by 20.96 points ( 0.68 per cent) to close at 3,071.06. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 3.44 points ( 1.92 per cent) to close at 179.23. The JSE Financial Index declined by 0.96 points ( 0.98 per cent) to close at 98.18.

Market volume amounted to 56,150,692 units valued at over $475,192,486.59. Stanley Motta was the volume leader with 21,273,601 units (37.89per cent) followed by Kingston Properties with 10,000,000 units (17.81per cent) and Fosrich with 4,044,531 units (7.20per cent) .
