Detectives from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime (C-TOC) Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) seized approximately $500,000 worth of counterfeit items during an operation on Constant Spring Road in St Andrew on Monday.

Victor Barrett, Assistant Superintendent of Police with C-TOC, said one person was arrested during the operation that was carried out at Central Plaza.

The police, acting on information, said they went to the mentioned complex at about 1:30 p.m., and during a search of one of the stores there, the counterfeit items were found.

The police said the operation is part of their mandate to rid the country of goods that are in breach of the Intellectual Property Rights Act.

Investigations continue into the find.
