Candidate for President of the People’s National Party (PNP) says he is in full support of anti-corruption protests organised by the party.

Bunting was absent from the protests recently held in Kingston and Montego Bay.

Bunting, who serves as Member of Parliament for Central Manchester said he is looking forward to personally participating and mobilising his constituency and parish when the PNP-organised protests head to Central Jamaica.

He said as he continues to go across Jamaica with the Rise United campaign, he will engage civil society groups in town hall or schoolroom settings to build a coalition of anti-corruption support.

Bunting said that public corruption weakens the will of political leadership and policymakers to take decisive actions against the top criminals at all levels of the society.

“Corruption also damages Jamaica’s good name abroad,” he noted.
