Industry Minister Audley Shaw will be among the speakers at the Build Expo and Conference.

The second annual staging of Build Expo and Conference is to be held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Montego Bay, St James from June 8 to 11.

The event was conceptualized  to promote the local construction industry and encourage homeownership and property development.

Confirmed speakers for the event include Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Audley Shaw; and Laurie Peters, Canadian High Commissioner to Jamaica and the Bahamas; among others.

The expo, which will emphasise clean, alternative energy solutions and environmentally friendly practices, is the brainchild of Dwight Crawford.

The event will kick off with a round table discussion on Climate Change,  hosted by the Canadian High Commission.

Chairman of Build Expo and Conference  Crawford is encouraged that the  Canadian High Commission has come on board this year.

"The Canadian High Commission has bought into Build Expo in a very big way. I must thank them for seeing the promise in this. Climate Change and environmental management is a major part of where their focus is. They are trying to find ways through Build Expo to assist us in doing better management of our environment," Crawford stated.
