British national ‘held with 19 pounds of ganja’ at NMIA

A British national has been charged with ganja-related offences by detectives from the Narcotics Police Division.
The accused is Garfield Williams, 54, a retiree of a Luton address in the United Kingdom, who has been slapped with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, taking steps preparatory to export ganja, and conspiracy charges.
He was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
Williams was booked for a flight to London when his suitcase was searched and 29 parcels containing ganja weighing approximately 19 pounds was allegedly found in the case.
The drug has an estimated value at of $76,000.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and Andrew Parish Court next week.
