Brace for traffic changes along Barbican roadway on Wednesday
Motorists who traverse the Barbican roadway in St Andrew should brace for traffic changes on Wednesday.
According to the National Works Agency (NWA), the traffic changes will be implemented along a section of Barbican Road between Liguanea Avenue and the East Kings House Road intersections.
Traffic heading west along Barbican Road from the Liguanea Avenue intersection will be diverted onto Salisbury Avenue then onto Paddington Terrace to exit on East Kings House Road, the NWA said.
The agency said, for motorists who wish to continue towards Russell Heights or access Jacks Hill Road, a loop road can be used to get back onto Barbican Road.
It is anticipated that the new traffic arrangements will be in place for at least two weeks.
The changes are due to the ongoing $4.4 million upgrade project on the Barbican roadway.
The road improvement work involves the 1.1-kilometre stretch of roadway between Russell Heights and Jacks Hill. The targeted section of roadway will be upgraded from a two-lane carriageway to a four-lane corridor, equipped with a median for safety.
