The Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine has been re-opened to vehicular traffic.
The National Works Agency (NWA) announced the opening of the roadway on Thursday.
The gorge was closed for two days because of heavy silting brought on by the Rio Cobre badly overflowing its banks following record levels of rainfall across central and southern parishes earlier this week.
The NWA had been asking motorists to stay away from the gorge because the roadway was slippery and dangerous during the process of removing huge deposits of silt from the thoroughfare.
More than 20 trucks were deployed to the area to clear the silt, which was reportedly up to six feet in some places.
