The police have confirmed that the body of the schoolboy who was reportedly playfully pushed into the waters of Kingston Harbour last Friday, has been recovered.

Reports from the City Centre police are that the body of 14-year-old Kenardo Stephenson was fished from the harbour late on Saturday.

Reports are that about 11:00 a.m., the child was with friends behind the Bank of Jamaica in downtown Kingston. Indications are that during conversation, he told his friends that he was unable to swim, and he was subsequently playfully pushed into the water, where he got into difficulties.

Reports are that the friends ran from the scene upon seeing the boy’s desperate attempts to save his life.

A 24-hour search was subsequently conducted and the body of the child was found the following day.
