Body of 60-year-old woman found in a 'fowl coop'

Police in St Ann are now carrying out investigations surrounding the death of a 60-year-old woman, whose body was found in a fowl coop at the back of a house in the community of Williamsfield on Friday.

The dead woman has been identified as Lorna Chisolm-Matthews, a dressmaker from the mentioned community.

Reports are that at about 4:15 p.m., the husband noticed that his wife was not in the house and during a search made the shocking discovery that has left residents in shock.

Sources from the area told Loop News that the body of the woman was found with a piece of scarf tied around her neck.

Police were called to the location and the body removed.

Some residents in the area say they suspect that the woman may have committed suicide.

Police say they are still conducting their investigation in the matter.
