Two people are reportedly unconscious after a boat with 13 people aboard capsized between Port Royal and Lime Cay on Thursday morning.

Reports reaching Loop News are that the boat was heading towards Lime Cay from Port Royal, sometime in the morning, when it overturned.

Marine police said they received a distress call and, with the assistance of members of the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard, were able to rescue a number of persons.

“We were able to respond and pull a number of persons who had fallen overboard to safety,” one officer from the Marine Police Division told Loop News.

Two members of the group were reportedly unconscious up to the time of publication.
