Blue Power up more than 16% to lead stock gains

Blue Power Group led gains during Friday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE). 

The soap manufacturer gained 16.23 per cent to close at $5.80, followed by Consolidated Bakeries (Jamaica) Limited (PURITY), up 12.72 per cent to close at $1.95. The day’s largest declining stock was Stanley Motta Limited Ordinary Shares (SML), down 16.99 per cent to close at $4.25.

The JSE Combined Index advanced by 1,049.21 points (0.28 per cent) to close at 382,341.93. The JSE Index advanced by 1,616.75 points (0.43 per cent) to close at 377,499.74. The Junior Market Index declined by 39.46 points (1.20 per cent) to close at 3,237.21. The JSE USD Equities Index closed at 166.86. Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 57 stocks of which 16 advanced, 27 declined and 14 traded firm. 

Market volume amounted to 19,579,421 units valued at over $254,065,348.81. Dolphin Cove Limited was the volume leader with 7,862,970 units (40.16 per cent) followed by Fontana Limited with 6,237,501 units (31.86 per cent) and Indies Pharma Jamaica Limited Ordinary Shares with 1,411,221 units (7.21 per cent) .
