Bloodletting continues on Red Hills Road

The guns continue to bark as the body count rises along sections of Red Hills Road in St Andrew and its environs.

The latest victim has been identified as 35-year-old Andel Reid of a Grants Pen, Kingston 8 address.

Reid was attacked and shot as he walked past a popular eatery close to the St Richards Primary School early Wednesday morning.

The St Andrew North Police report that about 12.15 am, Reid was walking along the roadway when he was pounced upon by two gunmen travelling on foot who opened fire hitting him several times. The police were alerted and he was taken to hospital where medical staff pronounced him dead on arrival.

Reid’s demise is the latest in a string of incidents which some residents have linked to an ongoing feud between gangs from a large expanse of inner city communities known as ‘Common’ and another known as 'Ackee Walk'.

Earlier this month, three men were killed and several other persons injured after two carloads of gunmen invaded a section of Ackee Walk and opened fire indiscriminately.

A police source told Loop News that while sleuths are probing the latest killing, it is not clear if Reid’s murder is linked to that gang feud.
