‘Black Jack’ gunned down in Westmoreland

A labourer was shot and killed by gunmen while walking in the community of Bahram in Westmoreland on Monday night.

The dead man has been identified as Jermaine Bedward, also known as ‘Black Jack’.

Three men have since been taken into custody in connection with the killing.

The Savanna-la-mar police report that about 9:00 pm, Black Jack was walking along a section of Bahram main road when he was ambushed by armed men who peppered him with bullets.

The police subsequently carried out a series of investigations into the crime, and arrested three men in connection with Bedward’s shooting.
