Biomedical celebrates Golden Jubilee with free Health Fair in Portmore
As part of its year-long 50th Anniversary celebrations, Biomedical Laboratory will host a free health fair at the Portmore HEART Academy on Saturday, May 26, starting at 10 am.
Managing director of Biomedical, Barbara Hendriks said the event is a way of expressing gratitude to the people, as the event will take the form of a customer appreciation experience.
“The Portmore Community is very important to us. We have many clients in this part of the parish so we expect a large turn-out of the people we serve. We are delighted at the chance to say ‘thank you Portmore for your support’,” she explained.
Hendriks noted that though the health fair is the first outreach of its kind for Biomed, charity will form a big part of her company’s anniversary celebrations this year.
According to her: “Giving back is a priority in our 50th year of celebration, in fact, with the support of our sponsors, we hope that this health fair can become an annual event.”
Through partners such as the Heart Foundation of Jamaica, the Lions Club of Kingston, Ministry of Health (Jamaica Moves), Sagicor, Carimed and the National Family Planning Board those in attendance will benefit from free blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol tests, as well as eye tests, dental checks, HIV and syphilis tests among other services.
