Members of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) on duty.
Police officers assigned to the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) and the St Andrew North Division seized some 16 motorcycles in the St Andrew North policing area during operations which were conducted between Wednesday, April 24 and Wednesday, May 1.
The operations were carried out because of public safety issues which have arisen from the disregard of the Road Traffic Act by some motorists, including motorcyclists.
The motorbikes were seized for various offences, including them not being licensed or having no registration plates affixed to the units.
The police have advised all operators of motor vehicles to ensure their units are registered, updated and operating within the parameters of their prescribed licenses.
Drivers are reminded that if the various operating criteria are not met, their vehicles will be seized and the operators prosecuted for the respective offences.
