Bike taxi operator shot dead in Grange Hill Square

A bike taxi operator was shot and killed and another man shot and injured by unknown assailants in Westmoreland on Good Friday morning.

The dead man has been identified as 25-year-old Jermaine Godfrey, otherwise called ‘Blacks’, of Grange Hill, Westmoreland.

A 48-year-old man, who was also shot during the attack, has been admitted in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Reports are that on Good Friday morning, Godfrey and another man were standing at a plaza in Grange Hill Square, when two men walked up to them and opened gunfire.

Both men were hit and later taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where Godfrey was pronounced dead and the other man was admitted.

The Westmoreland police, who are investigating, are yet to determine a motive for the attack.
