Barita led gains during Friday's trading
Barita Investments Limited (BIL) led gains during Friday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Barita gained 16.62 per cent to close at $28.00, followed by Blue Power Group Limited (BPOW), up 8.78 per cent to close at $5.45. The day’s largest declining stock was K.L.E. Group Limited (KLE) down 12.50 per cent to close at $3.50.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 2,259.33 points (0.57 per cent) to close at 395,243.29. The JSE Index declined by 2,589.66 points (0.66 per cent) to close at 392,202.23. The Junior Market Index advanced by 10.83 points (0.34 per cent) to close at 3,182.33. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 1.47 points (0.88 per cent) to close at 167.68.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 57 stocks of which 27 advanced, 23 declined and 7 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 17,737,250 units valued at over $533,977,610.16.
Jamaica Broilers Group was the volume leader with 8,048,990 units (45.38 per cent) followed by SSL Venture Capital Jamaica Limited with 3,547,275 units (20.00 per cent) and Wisynco Group Limited Ordinary Shares with 1,699,655 units (9.58 per cent) .
